Binance App Trading Page Explained: Every Button Covered

The trading page is the core of the Binance app. Today we are going to pull it apart piece by piece and show you exactly what every button and functional area does.

Entering the Trading Page

Tap the "Trade" icon in the bottom tab bar to enter. The first time you open it, the system defaults to the BTC/USDT pair, which you can switch at any time.

The overall layout of the trading page runs from top to bottom: the trading pair selector, the candlestick preview, the order entry panel, and the open orders panel.

Trading Pair Selector

At the top-left of the page is the name of the current trading pair, for example "BTC/USDT." Tapping this area opens the pair switching panel.

The switching panel is thoughtfully designed: a search bar at the top lets you type in a coin name to find it quickly, while the area below organizes pairs by category — Favorites, USDT Market, BTC Market, BNB Market, and so on. In practice, pair switching is extremely fast; after switching, the candlestick chart and order book data update within about one second.

Next to the trading pair name there is usually a small star icon. Tap it to quickly add the current pair to your watchlist.

Candlestick Preview Area

Below the trading pair name is a mini candlestick preview window showing the price movement for the current pair. By default this window shows the 15-minute chart; tapping it expands it to full-screen.

To the right of the mini chart, several key data points are displayed:

  • Latest price
  • 24-hour change
  • 24-hour high
  • 24-hour low
  • 24-hour volume

All of this data updates in real time. You can swipe to hide the candlestick preview area and give more space to the order entry panel below.

The Order Book

Below the chart area is the order book display, one of the most important components of the trading page.

Asks (upper red section): Displays current sell orders in the market, sorted from lowest to highest price. Each row shows price and quantity, with a depth bar on the right that visually indicates the order volume at that price level.

Bids (lower green section): Displays current buy orders, sorted from highest to lowest price. The layout mirrors the ask side.

Center divider: Displays the latest executed price and its fiat equivalent (for example, "approx. $XX,XXX").

In practice, the order book refreshes approximately every 500 ms — adequate for spot trading. Tapping any price in the order book automatically fills that price into the order entry input field, a very thoughtful interaction.

The Order Entry Panel: The Core of the Core

The order entry panel is the most important part of the entire trading page. Let us break it down element by element.

Buy / Sell Toggle

At the very top of the order entry panel are two tab buttons: "Buy" and "Sell." The Buy button defaults to green and the Sell button to red — a clear visual distinction that makes accidental mis-taps less likely.

Order Type Selector

Immediately below is a dropdown menu for selecting the order type:

Limit Order: You specify a price, and the order executes only when the market reaches that price. This is the most commonly used order type.

Market Order: Executes immediately at the best available market price. When you select a market order, the price input field disappears and you only need to enter a quantity or amount. In practice, market orders fill almost instantly.

Stop-Limit Order: An advanced order type requiring both a trigger price and a limit price. When the market price reaches the trigger price, the system automatically places a limit order at your specified price.

OCO Order: One Cancels the Other — simultaneously sets a take-profit and a stop-loss. When one condition triggers, the other is automatically cancelled.

Price Input Field

In limit order mode, a price input field appears. "+" and "-" buttons on either side of the field adjust the price by the minimum tick size. Long-pressing either button increases or decreases the price rapidly.

Quantity Input Field

Below the price is the quantity input field, which also has "+" and "-" buttons. Below the quantity field there is typically a slider with quick-select options for 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of your available balance.

In practice, the slider feels responsive and the positional accuracy is sufficient for everyday use. For beginners, dragging the slider is far more convenient than typing numbers manually.

Total Order Value Display

Below the quantity field, the system automatically calculates and displays the total value of the order. For example, buying 0.1 BTC at a price of 30,000 USDT will show "Total approx. 3,000 USDT."

Available Balance

The bottom of the order entry area shows your current available balance. When buying, it shows the balance in the quote currency (e.g., USDT); when selling, it shows the base currency balance (e.g., BTC).

Buy / Sell Button

At the very bottom is the action button. It is a large green button when buying and red when selling. The button also displays the action and the coin name, such as "Buy BTC."

After tapping the button, if you have trade confirmation enabled, a confirmation dialog will appear showing the order details for you to review. Once confirmed, the order is submitted to the trading engine.

Open Orders Panel

Below the order entry panel is the open orders list, showing all of your unfilled resting orders.

Each order displays the following information:

  • Trading pair name
  • Buy/sell direction
  • Order price
  • Order quantity and filled quantity
  • Time of order placement

Each order has a "Cancel" button on the right. In practice, cancellations are fast — typically completing within one second.

At the bottom of the list is a "Cancel All" button that lets you cancel all unfilled orders with a single tap, which is extremely useful during periods of high market volatility.

Advanced Feature Buttons

The trading page also contains some less conspicuous but highly useful advanced features:

Grid Trading: There is a "Strategy" entry point near the top of the page that takes you to the grid trading setup. Grid trading is an automated strategy well-suited for ranging markets.

Isolated / Cross Margin Toggle: When using margin trading, you can switch between cross margin and isolated margin modes here.

Settings Gear Icon: The gear icon in the top-right corner opens the trading settings, where you can adjust options including the order confirmation toggle and fee deduction settings.

Gesture Controls

In practice, the trading page supports several useful gestures:

  1. Swipe left/right: Swipe on the chart area to scroll through historical candlestick data.
  2. Pinch to zoom: Pinch on the chart area to adjust the time scale.
  3. Swipe up/down: Swipe in the order entry area to resize the display panels.
  4. Tap order book price: Instantly fills the tapped price into the order entry field.

Summary of Hands-On Experience

The Binance app trading page strikes a good balance between information density and ease of use. The core flow — select pair, select order type, enter price and quantity, confirm — is clear and logical enough for a new user to master the basics within minutes.

Compared to other exchange apps, Binance's advantages are its wider range of order types, more real-time order book data, and more intuitive slider design. If there is one improvement worth suggesting, it would be adding a "best price" quick-fill button in limit order mode, so users do not have to manually reference the order book before entering a price.
